Introduction to Chinese Herbal Medicine
This is a two day workshop.
Workshop Description: Herbalism is one of the oldest healing arts and has its most extensive roots in China. This workshop will be an introduction to the basic theories and use of herbs in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Topics will include a brief history of Chinese herbalism, methods of Herbal Therapy, the collection and preparation of herbs, their processing, weighing and measuring, dosage, indications and contraindications and the different types of internal and external preparation. The function and uses of the major categories of herbs as found in the Materia Medica will be studied. The concomitant use of herbs and bodywork will be discussed.
